Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional Terhadap Konsep Diri Pemuda-Pemudi Vihara Bodhisattva Bandar Lampung Tahun 2015

The problems that happened to young people in Bodhisattva Monastery are easily offended, less able to manage emotions, and it is not easy to build good relationships with others. Based on the problems are there, a researcher interested to research the influence of emotional intelligence on the self-concept of young people at Bodhisattva Monastery at Bandar Lampung 2015. The purpose of this research was to discover the influence of emotional intelligence on the self-concept of young people in Bodhisattva Monastery at Bandar Lampung 2015.
Emotional intelligence is a more capability of an individual to motivate oneself, resilience in the face of frustration, manage emotions (impulse control and not exaggerating pleasures), set the heart's mood and keep the stress does not cripple the ability to think, empathize and pray. Self-concept is as seen, perceived, and experienced by him.
This research including to quantitative research with data processing techniques based on the results of the questionnaire. There are 78th statement items with a Likert scale on the alternative answers. The number of trial respondents is 10th. The numbers of respondents in this research are 55th people with a random sampling technique. The data was collected and processed using the Microsoft Excel program and SPSS 16.0.
The trial showed that there are 7thitem is invalid. The item given to research respondents is 71st. The result of the reliability test had 0,988 on 78th items >0,05 which means the instruments are reliable. Based on the result of the conducted knowable the emotional intelligence of young people at Bodhisattva Monastery is located in the high category.The end result obtained was the influence (r square) is 69,7% with t-count value 11,036 and the significant is (p) 0,000 < 0,05. This means Ho was rejected and Ha accepted.
Based on the result of research, it is concluded that there is a significant influence of Emotional Intelligence on the Self-Concept of young people in Bodhisattva Monastery at Bandar Lampung 2015. If emotional intelligence is high the self-concept must be positive. Researchers suggested to the relevant parties to make the efforts so that emotional intelligence is increased and self-concept could be positive. I hope the result of the research is beneficial for all parties involved and readers in general.
