Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Self Concept on Student Discipline of Jinarakkhita Buddhist College in Bandar Lampung in 2018. Problems that occurred in students are attitude and responsible as students (students often come late and they do not present without having the information). Besides that, students also have bad activities, for instance, they do not work on the assignments, have a good relationship with the others, and they leave the classroom when the lecturing.
Self-concept is a part of self that affects every aspect of the experience, be it thoughts, feelings, perceptions, or individual behaviour or self-concept as an individual mental description consisting of knowledge about oneself, self-esteem and self-assessment (Hidayat and Bashori 2016: 38). Discipline is something that relates to one's self-control over the forms of rules in which the rules are applied by the people. Discipline is defined as compliance with regulations, orders, norms or being subject to supervision, and control (Subur, 2015: 297).
This study includes descriptive quantitative research with data processing techniques based on the results of the spread of instruments. The tool to have data collection is a questionnaire about 68 item statements using a Likert scale on the answer. The population in this study were 64 students. The steps used to test the magnitude of the effect using simple linear regression and the application used is the SPSS16.0 program.
Based on the results of testing hypotheses and simple linear regression obtained a t count of 13.302 with a significant level of 0.000 while the t table with n = 64 and α = 0.05 obtained a value of 1.669. It can be assumed that t count ⥠t table (13.302>1.669 or sig <0.05 (0.000â¤0.05) then Ha is accepted while HO is rejected. While the R square value in this study is 0.741, it means that the self-concept influences the discipline by about 74.1%.
Based on the results of data analysis found can be concluded that the effect of self-concept on students' discipline at Jinarakkhita Buddhist college is about 74,1% and 25, 9% is influenced by other factors.
