Abstract

The learning process in class is inseparable from student learning behavior. Learning by students is different. Learning behavior of second semester students when learning takes place is often sleepy in class, lazy in doing assignments, skipping during lectures, chatting during lecture hours, playing games when empty, late in attending lectures, boring and inept lecturers. This fact is due to the classical teaching style carried out by lecturers. The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of classical teaching style on the learning behavior of second semester students of high school of Buddhist sciences (STIAB) jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018.
Classical teaching style is an applied teaching style that strives to maintain and convey the old values of the previous generation of subsequent generations. This teaching style makes learning behavior not good in the learning process.
This quantitative research uses field research research. The subjects of this study were second semester students at the Buddhist high school (STIAB) jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung consisting of 34 students. The instrument used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using a simple linear regression analysis approach.
Test results and simple linear regression obtained Rsquare values as 0.16 with a significance level of 0.000, so Ho's hypothesis is rejected and Ha is accepted which means that there is a significant influence between classical teaching styles on learning behavior of second semester students in high schools of Buddhist religion (STIAB) jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018. The influence of classical teaching style on learning behavior is 11.6%, while 88.4% is influenced by other factors.
Based on the results of the above research, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the classical teaching style on the learning behavior of second semester students in the Buddhist high school (STIAB) jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018. Hopefully this research can provide an understanding of the classic teaching style of learning behavior.
