Pengaruh Kehidupan Pabbajita Terhadap Konsep Diri (Studi Kasus Monastik Wihara Virya Paramita) Bandar Lampung

This research aims to know if there is an influence and how much the influence of pabbajita’s life on monastics’ self-concept. The research is done atWiharaViryaParamita, Bandar Lampung. Some problems occurred in monastics of WiharaViryaParamitaare less capable to control themselves (or bad-tempered), motivating themselves, less self-confident, and less capable to evaluate themselves well.
Pabbajita’slife is living without marriage. It is also known as performing holy life and establishing life by observing Vinaya and detaching themselves from all forms of worldly attachment. Meanwhile, self-concept is a healthy individual response towards himself and his life.
Quantitative methodology is employed in this research. The subject of research is 32 monastics atWiharaViryaParamita. The instrument employed is a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data is analyzed by linear regression with SPSS 16.0 and continued by t-test.
Based on the result of the hypothesis test and simple linear regression, we get the t value is 7.994 with a significance level of 0.000, while the t table with n = 32 and a = 0.05 is 1.697. This can be assumed that countable t > t table (7.994 > 1.697), therefore Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. While R square in this research is 0.681, meaning pabbajita’s life has an influence on self-concept, in the amount of 68.1%.
Based on the data analysis done, in summary, there is an influence of pabbajita’slife towards the self-concept of monastics at WiharaViryaParamita, Bandar Lampung. The amount of influence is 68.1%, while 31.9% of the self-concept of monastics is affected by another factor excluded from this research.
