Abstract
Spiritual intelligence is a non-material dimension like the human soul that relies on the part of the human self-associated with wisdom outside the ego or the conscious soul to deal with and solve problems and place behavior in a broad context and the way of human life is more meaningful ( Khavari ,2000). The Buddhist students of Jinarakkhita university had not been able to talk using language that did not reflect politeness, distinguish between ways of getting along with older people communicating like friends, be more confidence and adjust to new environments, speak ethics to lecturers when using communication media / mobile phones or other students. Then, some students were less enthusiastic about following the activities of the academic community, less concerned about the campus environment and the students lack discipline in campus regulations.
Communication ethics was the study of the good and bad of an act of communication carried out by humans, a rational knowledge that invited people to communicate well (Coory, 1979). Communication ethics was only related to good speech, but also must depart from sincere intentions expressed by calm, patience and empathy in communicating.
The type of the research was Field Research, which examined the influence of spiritual intelligence on the communication ethics of students in the semester II, IV and VI of the Jinarakkhita Buddhist university of Bandar Lampung. The research design carried out by researcher was observing, setting the background of the problem, identifying problems, formulating problems, making theoretical bases, making research methods, determining research variables, making instrument lattice, collecting data through questionnaires, analyzing data, making conclusions and suggestion.
The results of spiritual intelligence research provided some benefits for students of Jinarakkhita Buddhist university or themselves. Students' spiritual intelligence which was affected by communication ethics was 41.7% and 58.3% and the rest was influenced by other factors. Thus, the hypothesis H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted.
