Abstract
The purpose of this research was to develop interactive video-based learning media on the law of karma at the Buddhist Sunday School (SMB). This research and development was carried out because the learning process of Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) of the Jayanti Buddha Temple was still conventional which focused on the lecture method, stuck to the manual and the use of learning media had not been carried out maximally. Actually, the delivery of this material requires a more attractive appearance so that it is easily understood by the students. Due to technological developments, the learning process can take advantage of the media to help achieve learning goals. One of the learning media in the form of technology products is video. So those students are expected to easily understand the material.
Instructional video media is a tool that is capable of projecting various messages, subject matter, and other knowledge. Learning media can be operated via Android or laptop, in order to study the material being developed, namely the law of karma. Therefore the learning process becomes more interactive and interesting and can foster motivation to learn. The research method was research and development (R & D) or research and development. This research is included in research "researching and testing to create products that do not yet exist". Data collection techniques used several stages, namely 1) observation and interviews, 2) data collection for literature studies and information collection, and 3) data collection to explore information during validation.
Based on the results of the media expert product design validation, the results of an assessment were (90%) and were very decent qualifications. While the results of the acquisition of the material expert validator, the assessment got a value of (87.5%) and was in very proper qualifications, then the results of the acquisition of the linguist validator, the assessment got a value of (82.5%) that was in very worthy qualifications. The overall assessment of the validator showed a value of 3.46 with a percentage of 69.2% being in high qualifications. Although there were product revisions from material experts, media experts, and linguists, overall the interactive video-based learning media on the law of karma had met the high eligibility criteria to be applied to the process of learning at Buddhist Sunday School (SMB). Through the results of this assessment, it can be concluded that this interactive video-based learning media can be declared feasible to be applied in learning. Thus, the researchers also suggest other researchers develop other materials.
