The process in SMP Bodhisattva Bandar Lampung in class VII totaling 14 people, still lack the interest in learning. That is because the model or learning strategies that are used less varied uses only a few models so that students feel bored in learning, but it also still there are some students who do not actually participate in the learning process.
Mind mapping is a mind map that uses the idea of thinking to put information into the brain and take it back out of the brain. Mind mapping is achieve the learning stages shaped like a road that has many branches.
Research is used by researchers to use Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research is done directly by the researchers by using the model of learning mind mapping.Mind mapping is done by providing materials and materials-making mind mapping tool that is used as the cult. Students are expected to be active in learning and to foster interest in learning. The next stage students are given the materials to be studied in each group of students then make mind mapping with supervised two observers to make observations. The results ofobservation are used to seeing an increase in student interest.
Based on the research that has been conducted by the researchers, the application of models of learning mind mapping is proven to increase student interest. Changes in student interest can be seen in the learning cycles. In the first cycle can be seen that the results of observations made first observer percentage reached 66.25%. Thus there are some students who still lack interest in learning, so it can be illustrated that the interest in learning is low. Continue in the second cycle there are changes that are very good at learning interest of students by percentage reached 97.5%.
Classroom action research done by researchers using observations in the application of mind mapping learning model that aims to see an increase in student interest in learning. So with the increasing student interest, learning objectives can be achieved with either.
