Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was an influence and how much influence social intelligence had on the learning motivation of STIAB Jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2017/2018. Researchers were interested in taking this research because researchers found several problems that occurred to Jinarakkhita STIAB students in Bandar Lampung, where there were still some students who were burdened by college assignments, paying less attention to lecturers when learning took place, there were still students who felt bored and lazy with lecture activities, there are still students who are unable to survive and quit college and there are still students who have limitations in establishing social relationships.
Social intelligence is the ability to establish relationships and interact with others. Social intelligence has several indicators that are used as a measuring tool, namely situational awareness, self-carrying ability, authenticity or authenticity, Clarity or clarity and empathy. Meanwhile, learning motivation is all psychiatric experiences that develop. Learning motivation is understood as a mental impulse that moves a person to learn, both from within and from outside. Learning motivation has several measurement indicators, namely intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation.
The methodology used by researchers is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques and tools used by researchers are in the form of closed questionnaires which contain statements from social intelligence (X) and learning motivation (Y) variables. While data analysis techniques used by researchers include test instrument validity, reliability test, normality test, homogeneity test, descriptive analysis, simple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing.
The results obtained from this study are that there is an influence of social intelligence on the learning motivation of Jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung STIAB students for 2017/2018 Academic Year is 51.5% and 48.5% affected by other factors.
Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that social intelligence affects the learning motivation of STIAB students Jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2017/2018. The influence of social intelligence on the learning motivation of Jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung STIAB students for Academic Year 2017/2018 is 51.5%. At intervals of the influence of social intelligence on the learning motivation of Jinarakkhita STIAB students with a percentage of 51.5%.
