Abstract

Students of Buddha Sunday School, especially in the temple of Bodhisattva some students are less disciplined, less polite in following the teaching and less filial to their parents as they are often denied the parents, do not respect parents, are disobedient to parents, attitudes unfavourable to the parents, lack of respect for parents, and often to ignore the parent's warning. This fact is the impact of children who do not practice the teachings of the Buddha well so that children are less filial to their parents. The main objective of this study is to determine the influence of Buddhist Sunday School on children's devotion to parents in the temple of Bodhisattva Bandar Lampung.
Buddhist Sunday School is a non-formal learning activity held in the monastery or Cetya every day of the week regularly. Buddhist Sunday School has the purpose to embed saddha / sraddha and filial of the learners in order to improve the Buddhist faith continuously. The filial of children to parents is an act that states the respectful and faithful of a child to the parents. Children have an obligation to be filial and treat their parents well.
This quantitative research uses the type of Field Research. The subject of this research is the students of the Buddhist Sunday School in Bandar Lampung Bodhisattva temple consisting of 58 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using a simple linear regression analysis approach.
The result of the test and simple linear regression obtained a value t-count of 7.277 with 0.000 significance level. It can be assumed that tcount> t-table (7.277>1.684) or sig <0.05 (0.000 <0.05), so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. While the R-square value in this study was 57.6, which means that Buddhist Sunday school influences the children's devotion to parents by 57.6%.
Based on the results of data analysis that has been carried out concluded that there is a significant influence on Buddhist Sunday School toward the children's filial to the parents. The magnitude of these effects is 57.6%. While 42.4% of children's filial to parents was influenced by other factors.
