Abstract
This research aims to know the influence of interpersonal communication on the learning behaviour of College of Buddhist (STIAB) Jinarakkhita students. This research was conducted because communication has not been going well between lecturers and students, students are often noisy, lack discipline, lack of concentration, being late for class, pay less attention to lecturers, lack readiness when learning hours begin, late collecting assignments and not understanding lecture material. Interpersonal communication is communication between people face to face, which allows each participant to catch other people's reactions directly, both verbally and non-verbally.
Learning behaviour is a habit, skill, observation, associative thinking and memory, rational thinking, attitude, inhibition, appreciation, and effective behaviour. The method used in this research is the descriptive quantitative method. The subjects of the study were the students of semesters II and IV of the College of Buddhism (STIAB) Jinarakkhita with a total of 54 people. The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using a simple linear regression analysis approach.
Based on the results of hypothesis testing and simple linear regression, the value of t is 25.032 with a significance level of 0.000, while the table with n = 54 and α = 0.05 is 1.684. It can be assumed that tcount> t table (25,032> 1,684) or Sig <0.05 (0,000 <0.05) then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. While the value of R Square in this study is 0.943 which means that interpersonal communication influences student learning behaviour by 94.3%.
Based on the results of data analysis, the researchers concluded that there was a positive influence between interpersonal communication on the learning behaviour of Jinarakkhita Buddhist School of Religion (STIAB) students. The magnitude of the influence is 94.3%, while 5.7% of student learning behaviour is influenced by other factors not included in this study.
