Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of student achievement through the implementation of cooperative learning model snowball throwing. Based on information conducted by researchers at the 16 November 2013 elementary school class V Bandar Lampung Bodhisattva was found that the learning process is carried still looks monotonous.
In learning need to develop a learning model that is able to involve the participation of students to explore the potential and skill make-answered questions that combined leadership in the group through a form of imaginative play and throw snowballs (Kokom,2013:67).
The method used is to use Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 28 student respondents. Classroom Action Research is an approach to improve education by making changes towards improving the education and learning outcomes. The flow used in Classroom Action Research (CAR) at each cycle of four stages: the first stage of planning, the implementation of the second phase, the third phase of observation and reflection stages of the fourth.
Based on the analysis of the data it can be seen an increase in achievement with the implementation of cooperative learning model snowball throwing Elementary fifth grade students Bodhisattva on how to care for the sick material. Values are presented from hasi obtained in the first cycle of students who completed totaling 16 or 57%, while in the second cycle students who completed the study 28 students or 100% so that it can be seen there is an increase of 43%. Further improvement of learning achievement can be viewed using the One-Sample T Test on the first cycle obtained Sig =0.314 or 31.4% (above 5%) means that the variable is equal to 72 and One-Sample test results Statistics obtained by the average (mean) 74, 17. While in the second cycle was obtained Sig=0.000,at 0.05 significance level and test results obtained Statistics One-Sample Average (Mean) 83.75. based on the average value obtained from the first and second cycle can be seen clearly as improvements of 9.75.
Based on the results of the study can be summarized in the application of cooperative learning model can snowball throwing improve student achievement fifth grade elementary Bodhisattva Bandar Lampung academic year 2013-2014.
