Abstract
Violent behavior is an act of a person or group of people that results in physical or mental injury that can result in death. Violence in the world of education is an action that occurs in school, whether it happens to students, educators, or staff and so on. In the Attadanda Sutta it is explained that âOne should be truthfull, not impudent, without deception, rid of slander, without anger. A sage should cross ever the evil of greed, and avariceâ (Sn. 941). This is what can prevent someone from violence. Factors that encourage violence include; moral decline, failure of value education (shifting ethical values, nurturing factors, loosening of value sources, the onslaught of the digital era, management systems and mindsets of educators and education personnel. There are several types of violence in the world; psychological violence, physical violence, sexual violence, violence verbal, symbolic violence and cyber violence. This research uses the Library Research method or library research, which is looking for data sources by looking at reading sources or literature sources, whether in the form of textbooks, journals, periodicals, and yearsbooks. This qualitative research uses this method. the literary approach is to use the Sutta Nipata as Grounded Theory. The result of this research is to know how to overcome violence that occurs in the world of education from a Buddhist perspective. Violence in the world of education can be overcome by building good relationships with the school community both outside and within the school environment. In Buddhism violence can be countered by cultivating morality, having Hiri and Ottapa, developing Brahmavihara, acting wisely, developing awareness and tolerance, and practicing discipline.
